TECHunplugged London, Update #2

07:26 22 March in Conference, Content, Uncategorized

Join us in London on the 12th of May for the next TECHunplugged!

For those of you that are not familiar with this event, TECHunplugged is a one-day conference focused on the latest technology trends and how these technologies can be adopted to the real world. In fact, Real World IT is the theme of the day. The format is simple. Selected industry influencers present on what they see in the field, followed by vendors presenting their solutions and points of view. Our goal is to bring together end users, influencers and vendors for a day of learning, exchanging information and peer-to-peer networking.

Meet our influencers!

The influencer line-up for this TECHunplugged edition is amazing, as well as the agenda for the day, and this week I will be introducing Nigel Poulton.

me-pic-1Nigel is a popular figure in the tech industry, renowned for his love of deep technical knowledge. He writes a popular long-running technology blog as well as hosting the popular “In Tech We Trust” weekly podcast, both known for their excellent treatment of technical topics. Nigel has worked in technology for 15 years with nearly 10 of those years spent designing and managing solutions in some of the most demanding corporate IT environments in the world. Nigel has worked his way up from changing tapes and resetting passwords to designing resilient, high performance, petabyte scale solutions. He also owns and manages production technology environments, predominantly in the financial services sector. Nigel is currently working on container technologies including Docker.

Nigel will be talking about “Deploying Clouds and Containers”

The session will walk through several ways of deploying enterprise class infrastructure to the public cloud. It will demo some of the latest and greatest tools for deploying infrastructure as well as applications.

A unique chance to see a real-time demo on how to practically deploy container-based applications on public cloud infrastructure like Amazon AWS.
Nigel is also taking part in one of the AMA (Ask Me Anything) roundtables, a moderated panel where attendees can ask their questions directly to influencers and sponsors.

Meet our sponsors!

There will be 7 sponsors in the UK, and they are preparing amazing content for the conference… and this week we are talking about Cohesity.

cohesity-logo-300Cohesity delivers the industry’s first hyperconverged secondary storage platform for consolidating your data across backup, test/dev, file services, and in-place analytics, onto an infinitely scalable, intelligent data platform. With Cohesity, customers achieve better business agility with seamless access, storage, and insight into data that is on-premise or on the cloud. For more information, visit www.cohesity.com.

This is the first time presenting for Cohesity at a TECHunplugged event, and we’re really looking forward to hearing more about this awesome technology!

Sign up and join us!

If you are already signed up I just want to remind you that on May 11th, the night before TECHunplugged, we will be having #Storagebeers. This is another great opportunity to meet up with other peers and have an informal chat about IT, new technologies or whatever you like 😉

If you work for a vendor, remember that you have to pay a round of beers to attend 😉

If you haven’t registered yet, better hurry! Seating is limited and we already have 60 signed up. The venue is the Kensington Close Hotel (very central and easy to reach by tube or cab). Here the link to the TECHunplugged website and registration form. Agenda is available here.
TECHunplugged is free for end users and independent IT professionals (there is a fee of £25 for non-presenting vendor employees).
